Academy Schools Admissions Process

Welcome to the Academy Schools Admissions page, and thank you for your interest in our school!

If you need more information than is available on our school’s website, please fill out the Contact Us form and our Office Staff will contact you. If you have not already done so, please consider making an appointment to visit here. We would very much like to meet you, show you our classrooms, and share our community.

How To Apply

Our admissions process is designed to help families get to know Academy Schools— our philosophy, community, and learning opportunities— while also ensuring that we are the right fit for your child. Enrollment is on a rolling basis, so long as space is available.

● 1. Schedule a Tour

Please full out the Contact Us form on our website or contact us at (206) 588-0860 to schedule your visit. Parents meet teachers and staff, observe classes in session, and have time for questions. An enrollment packet will be provided during the tour. Students are welcome to attend the initial tour, or a second tour may be scheduled with them.

● 2. Complete the Online Application

Submit your child’s application online, along with a $100 non-refundable application fee.

● 3. Submit Student Records

As part of the online application, you will find a link to request records from your child’s current school, including administrator and teacher referrals.

Please also provide copies of any previous assessments, evaluations, IEPs, and/or report cards (copies are fine). You are welcome to include notes about whether you feel these records accurately reflect your child.

● 4. Schedule a Student Visit

Students spend at least a half day with us during the regular school year,, in order to get acquainted with our routines and feel comfortable in our environment.

Students bring a pencil, paper, snack, and lunch, and are paired with a student buddy to help them navigate their day. Teachers will collect observation and/or assessment data during the visit, based on your child’s age.

● 5. Admissions Review and Notification

After the visit, our Admissions Committee reviews teacher notes, assessment results, and previous records. An enrollment recommendation is made based on this full picture, and families will be notified within one week of the decision.

If admitted, you will receive your enrollment contract, and an electronic copy of the Student-Parent Handbook. Please e-sign both documents and return them along with your first tuition installment.

● 6. Welcome to Academy Schools!

Once your contract and deposit are received, you’ll receive a countersigned contract and welcome letter! Your family will be paired with a current Academy Schools family for support and community connection.
